I have not stayed at this park nor will I. I saw the billboard add on the interstate and called to check it out. The gentleman that answered the phone was not too helpful or willing to give directions. He told me to look them up on the website. I explained that we were driving and did not have internet access. When I got home, I did look at the website but did not find any pricing information or a map of the campground layout that would be helpful in reserving a spot. We have a camping club of seven families and we are always scouting for possible places. The next day my husband and I took a drive from Metairie (75 miles) just to see the place. We were on the grounds and could not find the office. I called and the same man answered the phone again he was not helpful and suggested we could look at the website but nothing was open. I told him we drove up to see the place. He did say that he was having a family event and we understood. But since we drove that far and were just asking for a pamphlet he could have been a little more helpful. He basically told me to go someplace else. Little does he know that we camp every other weekend.
This was our second time staying at this park. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The view of the river is beautiful. We sat out for hours just watching the tug boats in the river and we even got to see two river otters too. The walking trails are great at night to see the lightning bugs. We stayed there 3 nights and will use this as a stop over point on any future trips in that direction.
